This review is for the 1. 8ml 'Joye Ego One' atomiser running a 1. 0ohm coil. I was a little nervous that this atomiser wouldn't run on my kangertech EVOD 1300mah VV battery but it works flawlessly. (In fact so far it has worked with all the ego style batteries I've tried) Adding a 'type E' thread cover even makes the two look pretty good together - although a bit top heavy.
Prior to using the 'ego one' my favourite clearomizers have been kangertech's Aerotank (with an upgraded coil or a modified standard coil) or any mini Aspire clearomizer running a BVC coil head. I can't say that, that has changed simply because I love the size and style of the above mentioned clearomizers. However when it comes to Vapor production the 'Ego One' wins hands down.
Considering the huge clouds that this clearomizer produces the throat hit is comparatively mild - and that's not really a bad thing. If the T. H matched the vapor I think I would be hacking my lungs up! The only downside I've noticed so far is a tendency to gurgle. Whereas kangertech's Aerotank and protank etc, have a tendency to produce dry hits. Dry hits are not an issue AT ALL with this device. The gurgling only seems to start if the air flow is set too tight or if you over prime by drawing without hitting the fire button. And if you don't take care of the gurgling right away (by clearing out the central tube) you'll end up with liquid in your mouth. However if you do clear out the center right away the issue is easily resolved. I guess that's were Aspire's BVC coils really shine - they seem to have mastered both dry hits and gurgling ~ Minus the occasional dud coil. Although I would say that the BVC's do not match either the 'ego one' nor the Aerotank when it comes to vapor production. All three device come pretty close with good true to taste flavor, although perhaps all a wee bit muted. With aspire probably coming out on top, just.
Looking at the construction of the 'ego one' clearomizer {and in particular the coil heads} you'll notice that the device is very well thought out and beautifully put together - with performance to match.
All in all this is a fantastic device with very few downsides. I think I'll even be forking out the 17 odd dollars (U. S. ) for the replacement coil heads without qualm. But ONLY if I can run more than 20mils through each coil before it needs replacing.
