Wotofo SMRT Pod Review by Sam-Cover

Roll up… roll up…Today for review we have the new pod in the line of the manik range from wotofo. The Smrt pod kit, this was very kindly sent to me by Sue from Healthcabin. So let’s start the Wotofo SMRT Pod Review.

As always this review is my own thoughts and not associated with anyone from Healthcabin or POTV. Nor have I been paid for my thoughts.

Abit About the Device

So the new smrt pod kit is another device in the range of the manik from wotofo having reviewed the pod mod and the mini, I was glad to be able to compare this to these two.

This kit is being marketed as the most playable pod system. That is due to wotofos new build your own coil which is included in the kit but also sold separately. Not only that but this device is also compatible with the wotofo D range, vaporesso GTX and also the Voopoo PnP coils meaning it gives alot of versatility depending on which coils you prefer.

Wotofo have also included thumb cut outs on the box for this product which is great work as there boxes have always been a boxing match to open!

I recieved this kit in the black colour but it’s also available in 4 colours Red, Blue, Gold and Black.

The Mod

Simply this is the smaller brother to the original manik pod system and the older brother of the mini manik system.

As always with wotofo it has alot of branding with Manik printed onto the side of the mod in white lettering, it then has branding on every side of the device which I know some people wont be a fan of but after the last 2 products something I’ve become used to.

Its powered by an internal 2000MaH battery and has an output wattage of 80W. It’s made from a lightweight aluminium alloy and has a 0.96″ screen. This shows the usual battery percentage, wattage, ohms, voltage, puff counter and seconds puffed last time.

Its 5 clicks on, 5 off. 3 clicks will lock the device meaning you cant use the device at all.
Power and down clears puff counter.
Power and up flicks through different coloured screen options.

The mod itself loses the leather grip of the original and is instead all alloy giving it the lightweight yet solid feeling in the hand. On the bottom of the device is a usb type C fast charging port which is great addition as it’s an internal battery, the only problem being it’s on the bottom of the device with no protective bung, so theres a possibility of the charging port getting dirt in etc.

On the top of the device it as 2 airflow slots which both consist of 14 little holes unfortunately these are not adjustable meaning this is an airy vape but is condensed down more due to the holes rather than cyclops slots giving it a RDL vape on some coils.

The Pod clicks in nicely to the top of the device and is strong and sturdy with no movement, its held in by 3 magnets with 2 gold contacts to hit the coil.

The Pods

The pod included is a 4.5ml or 2ml TPD which is a good sized pod for this small device. It is a tinted plastic again with a fixed drip tip and a side fill this filling port has a cut underneath meaning it’s easy to open and reveals a nice sized fill port on problem when using a larger nosed bottle it can be awkward to fit in and also theres no air hole so have to keep it at an angle to release the air. The coils are push fit and slot in nicely at the bottom of the tank, so far in my testing I’ve only had a little bit of condesation/seepage from the coils but nothing to worry about.

The Coils

The main star of the show is the rebuildable coil but wotofo also included one of the D coils the #D15 rated 43-55W and is a dual mesh coil.
I remember from the original manik kit this was a great coil but in this device I had a totally different experience, it was even better than before and at a low watt of 27W it was absolutly brilliant. This has not only extended the coils life but also helped the 2000MaH battery life and I am getting a days use of this in use with a MTL device.

Now onto the rebuildable coil, this is what wotofo are pushing the whole device on with the name Smrt pod, in the kit they include enough materials to make 6 coils, 6 types of mesh 2x 3 different styles, 6 cotton, 2 rubber grommets, 2 gold connection pins, a coiling rod tool and the coil base.
All you need is some snips and scissors.

This is perfect for either a beginner who hasn’t started making coils yet or a vaper who wants to try something different.

There is a simply step by step instruction guide which helps every step of the way and its a very easy process with brilliant end results.
You get 6 mesh strips 2 of each.
• 2x nexM chill 0.2ohm best 37-43W
• 2x nexM turbo 0.2ohm best 37-43W
• 2x nexM extreme 0.2ohm 45-55W

My favourite was the turbo it gave the best balance between restriction and flavour but I havent had a problem with either of the 3 and they all give a enjoyable vape with great flavour.

Pros

  • Lots included in the kit
  • Good battery life
  • Great flavour
  • Easy to use
  • Good instruction guide
  • Variety of coils

Niggles

  • Only 1 ready made coil included.
  • Little seepage/condensation
  • Bigger nosed bottles can be awkward
  • Fixed drip tip

As always a massive thank you to Healthcabin for providing me this kit.

You can get this kit for just $20.77 when you login to healthcabin website which is a great price for the amount you get.
