I brought something from HealthCabin again. This time there is a POD on the table, namely the Kumiho THOTH G, whose predecessors, to be honest, I was not really satisfied with (especially the S model), but I thought we could give Kumiho another chance, to see if this time it will be more convex than before. Fortunately, they abandoned the cube body design and the THOTH G embodies a pen-like handle that is much more reminiscent of a POD. The plastic body is also a thing of the past, only the base is made of PC (polycarbonate) plastic, the body itself is aluminum alloy, so it is even more resistant to falls and tilts. They packed a 900mAh battery and it can reach a maximum of 35 Watts, which we won’t go too far with, but fortunately it is not sent with the lowest resistance atomizer, which is still quite usable. It is compatible with all THOTH POD heads, whose resistances are usually increased by 2 tenths. The smallest is 0.4 ohm, followed by 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 ohms. The 0.6 ohm POD head is included in the package by default.
The manufacturer launched it in 10 colors, 8 of which are sold by HealthCabin, so in this case we can choose from these 8 colors, which are gold, violet, green, blue, red, silver, gray and black. I received the red one, which not only has a charming fantasy name, but this bold shade of red is truly enchanting. Now let’s see if I have to be disappointed with Kumiho this time.
Box Contents And Getting To Know The Device
There’s nothing in the box! The instructions are hidden under the soft POD bed, and there’s a 0.6 Ohm POD head in the device, but apart from that, there’s nothing else included.

On the left side we can find the adjustable air regulator which is in such a good place that you don’t have to look for it for a long time. However, it is a little easy to use. It has some noticeable resistance when sliding, but in my opinion it is not enough to prevent it from being accidentally adjusted. On the right side we find the USB-C input which is theoretically capable of fast charging with the input voltage of 5V/1.2A, but in practice it takes about 1 and a quarter hours to charge the 900mAh built-in battery from zero, which doesn’t seem that fast considering the capacity, but it’s not terribly much either. I think this is still bearable.

The manufacturer has redesigned the connector again with the THOTH G. Here, the magnets in the POD are hidden, so they are under the plastic inner cover, which is not a bad idea, because liquid or its vapor can leak through the thin gaps next to the magnets, which is not necessarily good for the POD in the long run. The 2ml mesh POD heads have remained unchanged, because the entire THOTH series uses the same ones. As usual, the Ohm values of the POD heads have a recommended Watt range, which is as follows: 0.4 can be set between 25-35, 0.6 between 20-25, 0.8 between 16-20, 1.0 between 12-15 and 1.2 between 10-12 Watts. Incidentally, the magnets are strong enough both in the device and on the POD head. The POD head sits rock solidly in the connector, not a single movement or wobble.

The menu is very minimalistic, but at least it exists and doesn’t work badly, and it’s easy to use. If you press the fire button 3 times quickly, you can set the Watt value by pressing the fire button until it reaches the desired power or turns to the lowest value. If you press the fire button 5 times quickly, the minimalist menu will appear, where you can reset the puff count with Puff Clear, lock the fire button with Lock, so that you can only use the device with the vacuum switch, as long as the button is not locked, it fires the same way when the fire button is pressed and the vacuum switch is pressed. Finally, there is also a Power Off, which of course turns the device off, and then turns it back on by pressing the fire button 5 times quickly. Each of these must be activated by navigating to the desired menu item with the underline, then long-pressing the fire button and the selected option will be activated. Unfortunately, the vacuum switch does not work while we are in the menu, or in the case of button lock, while the Lock text is active on the home screen. But it only lasts 3 seconds, so it is not that annoying.

I already had the T and S from the THOTH series. I was more or less satisfied with the T, but it wasn’t the real deal either, and the S was a huge disappointment for me. That’s why I was really afraid that I would be disappointed with the G as well. How I was, we’ll find out in the next episode…
Experience report
As for the appearance and design of the THOTH G, this time the manufacturer has moved in the right direction! Its shape is attractive, not too thin, it feels good to hold in your hand, it is not that heavy, but it still has some weight. Perhaps its surface is a little slippery, but not to a terrible extent. PODs with a plastic housing will never be as durable as those with a metal housing. So this is the first main positive that can be said about this device. Thanks to this, even though it fell, because unfortunately it did fall 1-2 times, the error that I experienced with the S model, that the device simply went crazy after a fall, did not occur. It could not sense the Ohm value well, and no matter what Watt value I set it to, it immediately started burning the POD head atomizer. Well, with the THOTH G this problem is gone! I think this is mostly due to the aluminum alloy housing, because the board can be applied to housings made of this material much more stably, and the fastening is less likely to loosen or be released in a metal housing. On the other hand, the plastic housing is easily damaged, even broken inside, which is why plastic housing models are not as reliable. But as I wrote above, these dangers no longer exist with the G model. Moreover, the fire button on the G model is also metal, which I was also happy about. A POD made of metal is simply much more stable and has fewer glitches. The pressure point can be found under the entire fire button, which means that wherever we find it, it will always sense it, so the Kumiho did a great job with this too. As I mentioned, it managed to touch the floor a few times, despite this, not a single scratch was left on it, which is also thanks to the metal housing. This also predicts its durability. The side air regulator lets in quite a lot of air, which is definitely good for lower resistance POD heads. When it is narrowed down a bit, you can already feel the air resistance, which is absolutely essential for higher resistance POD heads to bring the MTL feeling. Although the aforementioned air regulator slider is a bit loose, it can be adjusted relatively easily, but only when the air is narrowed. When it is fully open, nothing can get in to adjust it. Since I mostly used it with the air fully open, this was not a problem in this case.
Using the menu is absolutely not complicated. Although many people are averse to 1-button menu systems, I think there are times when you don’t need to go overboard. Moreover, the few menu items that the THOTH G has are more than enough to use it, because sometimes less is more. In any case, everything works as it should, so the menu can be used absolutely without problems and simply. I couldn’t get into this even if I wanted to, because it’s literally as simple as wood. Maybe the only thing is that if you lock the fire button and use it only with a vacuum switch, if you accidentally press the fire button and the Lock message appears, the vacuum switch won’t work until then. But by the time you inhale again, the message will disappear, because it’s only visible for 3 seconds. I don’t think this is at all disturbing. The fire button is difficult to press under external influence anyway.
All of the POD heads have very good flavor reproduction. The vapor is also absolutely satisfactory. It’s no wonder, because these are POD heads with mesh atomizers, which are well known for being very good. Their operating time is also quite good for POD heads. At low volume, it can easily last almost 1 week, but of course it depends on the liquid, but among POD heads this can be said to be good. The 1.0 and 1.2 POD heads operating at a lower Watt value also produce a relatively large amount of vapor despite the high resistance. I have no complaints about these, because the taste is outstanding and the vapor experience is satisfactory. The battery is not too tight either, especially those with a resistance of 0.8 and above. It can easily last a whole day, or even a day and a half if used with the 1.0 or 1.2 Ohm POD head. Recharging is also smooth, because the POD head has such a large opening that we can fill it with anything. You just have to be careful, but this is not only true for the THOTH POD heads, not to fill it completely, otherwise it will sizzle, which will soon stop, but I think it can be annoying while it lasts. The device’s connector used to have frequent condensation, which is no longer really typical of the G model. Much less liquid vapor is generated under the POD head during use, which is also a huge positive. This is due to the fact that the device does not overheat, as the cooling is well-designed. So overall, it can be said about the THOTH G that Kumiho has really hit the mark!
So far, everything is great! Now let’s summarize the most important points.
Pros:
- Aluminum alloy housing. I think Kumiho realized that the plastic housing used in the T and S models was not the best choice and it’s good that they realized this in time. A POD with a metal housing is much more popular and attractive because it makes the product somewhat shock and scratch resistant, which makes it less prone to wear and tear. In addition, it protects the board much better.
- Excellent design. The shape is familiar, there are not 1 or 2 PODs with this pen design on the market and that’s why it’s so lovable, because this familiar shape is what everyone can like. The weight is very good, although it’s barely noticeable, but that’s exactly why it’s so good. The location of the fire button and aeration slider is also perfect, your hand quickly gets used to it.
- POD head with excellent flavor reproduction. Since there is a mesh atomizer in the POD heads, it couldn’t be otherwise than to have excellent flavor reproduction. And the vapor production is absolutely satisfactory. Simply perfect! Moreover, the degree of coking is not that bad, a POD head can easily last at least 5-6 days, of course it also depends on the type of liquid we use. This time interval can only be increased!
- Good battery life. 900mAh does not seem like much, but since the resistance and power are well balanced, there is a minimum of 10-12 hours of battery life even with the lower resistance 0.4-0.6 Ohm POD heads. Of course, the 0.4 is close to the lower limit of the aforementioned battery life, but overall it is not bad. By the way, I found the 1.0 Ohm atomizer to be the best for the device’s capabilities. With that, I got 1-1.5 days at 13 Watts. I still have a POD head left after testing the previous models, I used a few of them for the G. So I can write with full confidence that the 1.0 Ohm is the best pairing for the THOTH G.
- Easy to use. You don’t really have to adjust the device much, as it adjusts the Watt, which is usually good, but if you do have to adjust it, it’s not complicated either. The minimal, low-cost menu will mostly never be used, so I can say that this is an extremely simple device in terms of use.
- Less condensation. Well-aimed cooling contributes to the least possible condensation under the POD head. In addition, this device doesn’t really heat up, and from 0.8 Ohm upwards it is not at all typical, so condensation is also reduced to a livable level, which contributes to the durability of the device.
Cons:
- A bit loose air control slider. This is a problem that, if you think about it, is not really a problem. Of course, the slider can be adjusted if the air is restricted and gets caught in a zipper or when you take it out of the pouch, but if you always have the THOTH G at hand, then this is already solved. My annoyance with this was very mild. As a result, I only once did not get air through the POD, but fortunately, the resulting burn-in of the atomizer in the POD head is not typical.
- Few accessories. Since the manufacturer managed to create the THOTH G very well, I am a little disappointed that there is not at least 1 more POD head in the box. Of course, this was also typical of the previous models, but they weren’t as good, so I didn’t regret the lack of accessories that much, but since I feel the G model can still be a success, it wouldn’t hurt to add a replacement head to that otherwise completely empty box. Of course, you can order it, but still… Not to mention that accidents can happen at any time, so at least 1 POD head could still be in it.
So in conclusion, I just want to say that I feel like I was a huge positive disappointment! Kumiho has pulled itself together with the THOTH G to such a level that the G model could even be included in the reliable category! Although the history of Kumiho did not show a bright future for the manufacturer, since they managed to create something really good with the THOTH G, they can easily turn around the bad opinion! If someone is looking for a simple, good flavor reproduction and last but not least, a beautiful POD, then I can recommend the Kumiho THOTH G.
