Kumiho THOTH T Pro Review by Manuel

7

Thoth T Pro, new Kumiho pod and offered for free by HealthCabin. Alternative version of the already existing “T” that after a model that met the users of disposable with its simplicity, this time meets the vapers who are looking for something different from the other Thoth models.

While it is true that the series of cartridges and coils remains the same as all Thoths, with relative “backward” compatibility, what differentiates the Thoth T Pro from the other models (and from the “normal” Thoth T, similar in lines but semi-mechanical) is the really large color screen, the vibration and 3 different vaping modes.
The battery mAh and charging speed also increase to better support these new features. Dimensions of 48 x 23 x 78mm, aluminum materials for the body and PCTG.

Box that Kumiho has accustomed to and minimalist equipment to keep costs as low as possible, always thinking of putting disposable users in crisis and trying to bring them on the right path of open systems. Inside the Thoth T Pro, a 0.6 ohm Thoth Cartridge and an instruction manual.

Also this time, Kumiho’s choice falls on the smoked PCTG cartridge but we’ll see, clear ones are also available and the pods (where to install the coils) are half black, half transparent. Capacity of 2 ml, always 0.6 ohm version engraved on the front over a “MIN” so as not to go too much under the window of the coils and allow the liquid to be drawn in.

Refill via cap, with the bottom where there is a pair of magnets and contact points to allow the cartridge to be read. Pros of cartridges, the presence of an internal membrane that eliminates leaks and condensation, obviously at the cost of having to throw away the pod once the coil is exhausted.

The available coils and cartridges remain identical and compatible for the entire Kumiho family, with the pro of not having to buy different ones.

  • 1.2 Ohm (recommended 10-12 watts)
  • 1.0 Ohm (recommended 12-15 watts)
  • 0.8 Ohm (recommended 16-20 watts)
  • 0.6 Ohm (recommended 20-25 watts) (included in the package)
  • 0.4 Ohm (recommended 25-35 watts)
  • With mesh section obviously. New in this Thoth T Pro, slightly better support the coils just like the 0.8 given the greater battery capacity and it also tries with this 0.6. I always remember that these are cartridges that work very well even with 2 or 3 watts less.

Pod housing that leaves the PCTG section of the drip tip quite exposed, allowing you to see the remaining liquid without extracting it. Laterally, a knob that when pressed acts as a fire button with a knurling. It is of a nice size but undoubtedly comfortable. I also specify that it does not rotate and advance, navigation is all by pressing the single button

USB Type-C socket installed on the side body of the Thoth T Pro. Here too, an upgrade compared to the other models with 5V/1.5A charging while in the others it should be 1.2A on all. This means that to fully recharge the 1300 mAh battery it takes about an hour. As per Kumiho tradition, a USB Type-C cable is not included in the package but it is possible to buy the Kumiho branded 3A one but it is not indicated as necessary, as long as you use a good quality one.

Laterally, the now trademark Kumiho slider with its three holes, the first two smaller, the third large. Considering the 1300 mah battery, I would have liked a fourth or to make all 3 large in order to have greater airiness when needed and better manage the coils with lower amperage, making it the first real RDL pod from Kumiho.

On the back, the fidget spinner already present on the S and T (normal) returns and that seemed like something left behind with the Kumiho logo engraved. Centrally, a rubber insert that offers a firm grip since on the opposite side, there will be the screen. However you hold the Thoth T Pro, you end up resting your hands on it so even though it breaks the aesthetics a bit, it cannot be said that it is not functional for its purpose.

Front side with the biggest news for Kumiho: the 1.44-inch OLED screen, when on average on the box they are “only” 0.96 inches. There is no need to be scared by the consumption since OLEDs consume a little less than TFTs and LCDs. That texture on the screen is a thicker film than the usual ones found on vaping devices, unless you remove it it is impossible for it to come off by itself. Therefore useful to avoid scratches if you want to dedicate the Thoth T Pro to outdoor use or at work.

Thoth T Pro controls:

  • 2 clicks to change vaping modes
  • 3 clicks to unlock the watt adjustment and change it.
  • 5 clicks to access the menu

Items in the menu:

  • Shutdown
  • Reset puff counter
  • Lock the fire button (Lock)

The three vaping modes are a great novelty. In the Thoth family, some were semi-mechanical, others did not go beyond various watts. Here you can choose between Super, ECO and Normal. It is easy to guess what they offer and I can only estimate, after having tried them, an initial 20% more or less compared to the selected output. The tradition of automatic shooting and always active fire continues, without having to switch.

Protections:

  • Cutoff after 8 seconds
  • Overload during charging
  • Short circuit
  • Low battery voltage

Final things: it’s nice to see the progress of a brand like Kumiho that seemed a bit stuck on offering variations on the theme. The first execution of such an advanced pod coincides with its being the device that addresses the widest range of vapers. Beyond the aesthetics, which may not be of interest, it is undeniable that the charging times and a larger battery are useful beyond the different vaping modes.

Kumiho Thoth Pro available on Healthcabin in 5 colors along with all the various pods and cartridges.
