Gov. Newsom signed a bill Friday to outlaw the sale of fruit-, menthol- and mint-flavor cigarettes and vaping cartridges (Gardiner,2020).

“I will take a deep pride and personal privilege” in signing the bill, especially as a father of four young children. (He said in a statement). The governor has supported a new vaping tax and launched efforts to curb youth vaping. The sale of flavored tobacco in retail stores, including flavored e-cigarettes will be banned in California USA corresponds to the sharp rise of youth consumption.

A bill was signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday to outlaw the sale of fruit-, menthol- and mint-flavor cigarettes and vaping cartridges, effective Jan. 1. The governor acted hours after the state Senate voted unanimously to give final approval to SB793 by Sen. Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo (Gardiner,2020) .

Newsom states that most youth were hooked by the “Kid-friendly” products or advertisements. For examples: cotton candy-flavor, Bubblegum-flavor. However those products contains nicotine. Definitely, nicotine is an addictive chemical to human body.
