SMOK Devilkin Kit

Yep that’s right me again with my second review, thanks to everyone that read and or commented on the last one for the Suorin Drop pod system, I really appreciate it

So what are we reviewing then? Drum roll please… wait for it ;) the SMOK Devilkin kit, thats right a Smok mod a tank combo, please don’t all leave at once now you’ve read that.

Generously supplied by HealthCabin

I believe this to be one of Smoks latest offerings , but who knows, they’ve probably released five new ones since I received this

Whats in the Box?

The Devilkin mod
Tfv12 prince tank (pre installed bubble tank)
V12 t10 coil
V12 q4 coil (pre installed)
Usb cable (please just use it for updates)
User manual
Little battery safety card
Spare tank section (only a standard straight glass) o rings and top gasket for the tank

The Devilkin mod itself is a 225w, dual 18650 temperature control device. The Devilkin measures in at 86mm x 50mm x 35mm, these are the dimension supplied by the manufacturer. Available in loads of colour combos as per usual with smok

Its comfy to hold due to the contouring shape sitting against the palm of your hand, whilst being able to trigger fire or just squeezing the fire bar style switch. I have found it slightly easier to fire more towards the top of the bar, but it it does activate all the way down

The battery door is pretty sturdy as well, located at the base of the device with a simple locking catch, it hasn’t given me any issues at all. This battery door does seem to of a better quality than some I’ve seen on other devices.

The 510 has given me no issues either, be able to accept atomisers up to around 28mm I would say with no overhang, could of been 30mm if they’d of moved the 510 over slightly, even then the overhang would only be on the one side

The operation of the mod is about as straightforward as it gets. A simple 3 clicks of the power bar/button gets you into the first menu page. The first page is wire type and and preheat , the second page is your puff settings and puff counter, the third is screen highlight colour, screen time and auto lock and the final page is power off, as the standard five clicks just locks your device. All easily navigable using the power up/down buttons and cycling through with the power button/bar

The tfv12 prince tank.

Around the base the tank is 25mm, 44mm high (not including the the drip tip, 810 oringed tip, your kennedy/goon tips wont fit) and 28mm around the bubble glass, holding a nice 8ml of juice with the bubble tank, top fill with push button slide opening, (this is obviously the #fucktpdedition). The dual airflow cyclops style slots measure roughly 15mm x 3mm, the afc does have a stopper as well

Now I haven’t used a stock coil sub ohm tank in a long while, much preferring to use rebuildables either tanks or rdas due to better flavour and cost of coils. Having said that I was quite surprised with flavour off the t10 coil in particular, its not rebuildable good, but it would definitely suffice. Didn’t get to use the installed q4 coil as it was doa from the start, another con of stock coil tanks. The airflow on this tank is on the larger side as well, closing it down doesn’t do much either tbh, also its not the smoothest airflow

You really need to be aware of what liquids you use with stock coils heavily sweetened and flavours that contain “cooling” agents will affect the longevity coil life massively. Coils for this tank are on the pricey side as well at around £12 for three here in the UK

Overall I actually enjoyed using the devilkin mod a lot, my first Smok mod as well. It’s definitely a toned down affair from smoks somewhat garish approach to mod design, no flashing leds in sight. The paintwork has also held up but only time will tell if that smok failure of the past has gone for good

Sitting nicely in the hand with the power delivery accurate and immediate

The tank not so much, its good for what it is and for those that like a lot air and can’t be bothered with making coils, it does the job, but I think there maybe better options out the for sub ohm tanks.

Keep your eyes out, as I’ll be giving this kit away, which will include the tank (cleaned obviously) and the mod. Also as there wouldn’t be any coils I’ve bought some of the new mesh coil heads which will be included
